Manchester United icon David Beckham has made fun of his son Romeo after the Red Devils overcame Arsenal in their Premier League meeting on Sunday. The Gunners lost 3-2 at the Emirates, suffering a home defeat for the first time in the league this season.

The Inter Miami co-owner was in playful mode with his second son Romeo, mocking the retired footballer who is also an Arsenal fan in a pair of Instagram posts. The legendary midfielder posted photos from his playing days on his story, asking if his son was okay and reminding him that the Gunners' lead is getting smaller.

" As the boss would say "squeaky Bum time" That Gap is getting smaller 🫣", he posted on Instagram.

His son, formerly on the books of Inter Miami and Brentford, responded by pointing out that the Gunners still hold a 12-point lead over Manchester United. Beckham Sr has seen his former club consolidate a top four spot with successive wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, strengthening their hopes of UEFA Champions League football next season.

Beckham's 'squeaky Bum time' post was an indicator of the level of jeopardy that was in the closing stages of the game at the Emirates as both sides exchanged blows. Matheus Cunha scored the winner in the 87th minute, only three minutes after the Gunners had equalised.

Manchester United became the first team since Luton Town in the 2023-24 season to score three goals against Mikel Arteta's side in any competition. They had gone 121 games without conceding that many goals in a game before the Red Devils arrived at the Emirates on Sunday.

Beckham puts worries behind him after Manchester United win

Manchester United great David Beckham appears to have put his recent worries behind him to support the Red Devils. The 51-year-old was pleased to see his former club secure a stunning 3-2 win over bigger rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Beckham has been involved in a very public spat with his oldest son Brooklyn, who released a six-page statement about his parents last week. The 26-year-old claimed to have been ill-treated along with his wife, and promised never to reconcile with David and Victoria, his parents.

Manchester United granted a bit of respite to the Inter Miami don as goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu, and Matheus Cunha secured the points for the Red Devils. Arsenal struck through a Lisandro Martinez own goal and a Mikel Merino effort, but they ultimately came away from the game empty-handed.
