Estevao is a massive fan of Chelsea's new £43m transfer target, he's a 'star player'

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will be busy in the transfer market before the end of the January window, but the summer is likely to see Todd Boehly wield his chequebook again.

In the last couple of seasons, Boehly has preferred to spend in the summer. Before the start of the season, Chelsea splashed a massive £300m on 10 new players including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato.

This summer, there is likely to be some key additions made. A new goalkeeper will certainly be on the agenda with Mike Maignan a long-term target and Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar linked with Chelsea.

A centre-back too, with Fabrizio Romano confirming Jeremy Jacquet is now a summer target for the Blues while a top-quality striker will also be targeted. Estevao is a massive fan of the latest striker to be linked.

What Estevao has said Vitor Roque after Palmeiras stint

Unlike Roque, Estevao has only played for two clubs. He joined Palmeiras from Cruzeiro as a 14-year-old, played 83 times for Palmeiras, and earned an initial £29m move to Stamford Bridge, where he’s starring.

Wayne Rooney loves Estevao, who scored and assisted on Sunday against Palace. Now, he could be reunited by an old Palmeiras pal, with Chelsea battling Tottenham and Man United for £43m-rated Roque.

Unlike Estevao, 20-year-old Roque has already played for five clubs. Cruzeiro like Estevao, Athletic PR, Barcelona, a loan at Betis and back to Brazil with Palmeiras, returning for a Brazilian record in January.

Following his arrival, Estevao was quoted by ESPN on what he thought about the arrival of Roque at his beloved Palmeiras, with Estevao already having agreed a move to Chelsea. He said Roque is a “star”.

“He will certainly be very welcome. Vitor Roque is a star player and will be alongside other stars here. It’s like Abel (Ferreira) says: we younger players are very privileged to be in a team like Palmeiras,” he said.

“He’s a star player, and I hope we can play together a bit, because it will work out. He will certainly be very well received; the group is good, hardworking, and dedicated. We always strive for titles and more wins.”

Roque is great but Chelsea desperately need experience

Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku, Kylian Mbappe Lautaro Martinez. All the best teams in the world have a centre-forward, or a lead striker with experience.

So, it leads Chelsea to the simple question of, why sign another young striker with potential when they already have three? Marc Guiu is the perfect kind of striker for Liam Rosenior, according to Joe Hart.

Delap is a striker with huge talent, even if Rosenior had to answer if Delap is struggling with confidence. Pedro is the best of the three, scoring a second Premier League goal in two games on Sunday.

But all three are young, and lack the experience of the aforementioned names. If Chelsea are to sign a new striker, they need an older head. Especially, with Emmanuel Emegha set to arrive this summer.
