How one pundit reacted to embarrassing Pedro Neto moment during Chelsea's win over Crystal Palace

Chelsea’s attack proved too much to handle for Crystal Palace in their 3-1 loss to the Blues over the weekend.

Estevao Willian and Joao Pedro both managed to get their names on the scoresheet for Chelsea, while Enzo Fernandez was also able to find the back of the net from the penalty spot.

Compared to the trio, Pedro Neto had a much trickier afternoon. In fact, Oliver Glasner thought Neto should have actually been sent off for a stamp on Ismaila Sarr.

Estevao’s best game in a Chelsea shirt?

That was not the only talking point the Portugal international was involved in.

Glenn Murray on Pedro Neto’s kick and run

There was one moment during the game when Neto kicked the ball ahead and tried to use his pace to latch onto it.

However, Palace defender Maxence Lacroix was able to match the Chelsea winger’s speed and shield the ball before it went out for a goal kick.

Neto’s move failed so spectacularly that former Palace striker Glenn Murray was adamant the 25-year-old would not try it in the match again.

Commentating on the game for Sky Sports, Murray said: “I don’t think Neto will be trying that push and run again.”

His teammate Estevao had much more success at Selhurst Park after also registering an assist. Neto’s best position is on the right, but Estevao could easily end up taking his place if he continues to make the kind of impact that supporters have been witnessing.

Pedro Neto’s dribbling stats vs Crystal Palace

Despite that poor bit of play, Neto still managed to complete a couple of dribbles at Selhurst Park.

As per Sofascore, Neto attempted four dribbles against Palace, completing two of them. He also made one progressive carry and nine carries overall.

Going forward, though, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man needs to produce more quality; otherwise, Estevao is going to take his spot. The reality is Estevao should already be a starter, at the expense of Neto or someone else.

It will now be interesting to see what attack Liam Rosenior goes with when Chelsea take on Napoli in the Champions League this week.
