Crystal Palace are said to be interested in a Premier League star in red-hot form.

Crystal Palace are said to be eyeing a Premier League difference-maker who is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career. It feels as though the Eagles are spiralling currently, sliding all the way down to 15th in the table having once found themselves in the top four following a superb start to the season.

Already with 28 points, it is very unlikely Palace will be sucked into a relegation battle, but they do still have work to do, and they will be desperate to turn around their torrid form as soon as possible.

It is a trying time for Palace, but they must keep their focus on turning things around, and good recruitment will help, both for players and a manager. Brennan Johnson was signed from Tottenham early in the window, and now the Eagles are being linked with a second Welshman.

According to CaughtOffside, Palace are interested in signing Fulham star Harry Wilson, who is enjoying a superb season. Wilson has nine goals and five assists so far this season, scoring a free-kick winner in stoppage time over the weekend.

Wilson is in the final months of his contract, and reports suggest talks have stalled for now. The Welshman may be sensing a big move and a big pay day given his excellent form this season, while he is unlikely to commit until Fulham are able to agree a new deal with head coach Marco Silva. It would arguably be unwise for a player to extend their contract not knowing who will be the head coach going forward.

That has sparked interest from a number of clubs, according to the report, with Aston Villa and Palace the leading names. Wilson could be the perfect replacement for Eberechi Eze as far as Palace are concerned, given he is so productive at the top end of the pitch and able to play both wide and in the number 10 role.

Fulham are unlikely to sell this month, though a significant offer could force them into considering a deal if Wilson does not plan to sign a new deal, given they would lose him for free this summer. Failing that, a summer deal could be on the cards if nothing changes with his contract situation, but there is likely to be plenty of competition.

Silva on Wilson winner

Speaking after Wilson scored a free-kick winner for Fulham against Brighton over the weekend, Cottagers boss Silva said: “It's an incredible moment. When you are confident it is a perfect example and you show your qualities in many ways. He has been with us for a long time, we all know he is a great taker of free-kicks, but I think that's the first he has scored direct officially."
