**Oscar Bobb could leave Manchester City in the final stages of the January transfer window, manager Pep Guardiola has admitted.**
Bobb has been linked with a £30 million switch to Fulham as the 22-year-old looks to revitalise his club career ahead of the FIFA World Cup, having struggled for fitness and thereby minutes at the Etihad Stadium so far this season.
The Norway international started each of Manchester City’s first three Premier League games of the campaign but the resurgence of Phil Foden and consistency shown by Jeremy Doku have meant minutes have been hard to come by for injury-riddled Bobb.
After bursting onto the scene with a last-minute winner in a 3-2 away win over Newcastle in January 2024, Bobb was destined to follow in Phil Foden’s footsteps and go from strength to strength to establish himself as a regular first-team starter in the seasons to come.
However, recurring injuries have derailed the winger from making a real impact in the first-team this term and having spent the last month on the sidelines, Manchester City will allow their academy graduate to leave the club for £30 million in January.
Bobb has attracted interest from an array of clubs in England and abroad, with Borussia Dortmund staking an early claim for the attacker only to be put off by the finances involved in a potential deal with Manchester City.
Fulham manager Marco Silva is keen to add the forward to his ranks in the final week of the January window, with Manchester City bracing themselves for a formal bid for another promising academy graduate who has, in all fairness, failed to make the cut under Guardiola.
Bobb remained absent for Manchester City at the weekend as goals from Omar Marmoush and January signing Antoine Semenyo secured a first Premier League win of 2026 for the eight-time Premier League champions.
Addressing Bobb’s unresolved future at the Etihad Stadium in his post-match press conference, Guardiola admitted that the Norwegian could leave Manchester City in what remains of the January transfer window.
“I know there are rumours, I know he (Bobb) is talking, but I don’t know right now,” said the Catalan, who has bolstered his attacking ranks in January with the stellar, shrewd acquisition of Semenyo from Bournemouth.
Guardiola and Manchester City officials will be ecstatic with Semenyo’s brilliant start to life in the north-west, with the 26-year-old Ghanian scoring thrice in his first few weeks at the club and already establishing himself as one of the first names on Guardiola’s teamsheet.
Bobb could well leave City this month but the return of Omar Marmoush from the Africa Cup of Nations – with the Egyptian breaking the deadlock against Wolves – and the seamless integration of Semenyo to the club will undoubtedly soften the blow for Manchester City fans as they prepare to bid farewell to one of their most promising academy graduates.
