Arrival at Liverpool makes Wolves January exit possible – Talks ongoing, late January move on cards

On Sunday, AS Roma sporting director Ricky Massara confirmed talks with Liverpool over Kostas Tsimikas’ return to Anfield. This can now be related to a late exit from Wolves in January.

Corriere dello Sport report the Greece international will likely depart the Giallorossi this month.

Roma are seeking possible replacements for the Liverpool player, who has struggled in Italy. One option is Atletico Madrid’s Matteo Ruggeri, who played under Gian Piero Gasperini during his time at Atalanta.

A move for the Italian is currently unlikely. That is because Wolves’ David Møller Wolfe is a much more prominent idea, even if the Norwegian only arrived at Molineux from AZ Alkmaar in the summer.

Liverpool return provides Wolves exit assist

The newspaper are confident a move for the 23-year-old would fit in with Tsimikas’ exit to Liverpool. Møller Wolfe is seen as a much more suitable profile than Ruggeri and is also likely to cost less than the former Atalanta player.

That is why contacts have taken place with Wolves over a January deal. Roma believe they have found some openings in a possible transfer and will keep monitoring the situation.

It is clear they are desperate to sign a new left-back this month. Toulouse’s Dayann Methalie is also viewed as an option but Møller Wolfe is a ‘hot name’ for Gasperini’s side right now.

The Italian side are unlikely to have a major budget for the Norway international. That is why they would only be able to make loan move for the Wolves player.

The Midlands club paid €11.5m to land the left-back in the summer. He hasn’t always been a regular in the season and this can make a move easier for Roma.
