The second half of the season is always exciting at youth level, with many prospects being given the opportunity to play above their age group.

Arsenal started five schoolboys at U18 level in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Saturday, with Mishel Nduka amongst those to feature.

Nduka, who signed from Charlton Athletic’s academy earlier this season, had already featured for Arsenal at U21 and U19 levels.

The game against Southampton marked his debut for the U18s and he certainly made an impact with his technical ability.

In the first half Nduka, 15, played a clever pass into the path of Emerson Nwaneri, who shot just wide.

With Theo Julienne likely to step up to the U21s on a regular basis, there could now be a chance for Nduka to establish himself in the U18 team.

Arsenal, who have found victories difficult of to come by, still have 16 league fixtures remaining at U18 level this season and Nduka will be eager to feature in as many of them as possible before becoming a full time scholar next season.
