Chelsea Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Cole Palmer, Filip Jorgensen&4 Others

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Cole Palmer should be back available to play Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old was missing from the matchday squad for the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend, and asked to explain his absence, Rosenior said:

“Unfortunately for us, Cole’s not quite right for this one. I’ve said before in press conferences that we want to make sure every player is at 100%. There’s no use risking players in January for what we want to achieve.”

“He’s got a little niggle in his thigh, he’s not quite 100%, but he’s got a chance for Wednesday, hopefully he’s back for then.”

Expected Return Date – Wednesday, 28th January vs Napoli (a)

Filip Jorgensen

The Denmark international was forced off at halftime during the win over Pafos last week, and he missed the trip to Selhurst Park.

Rosenior didn’t provide the exact nature of the injury, but he says the prognosis is better than first feared.

While Jorgensen was ruled out for the Palace game, there is a chance he will be in contention for the midweek fixture.
