Wow: Liverpool have now"held fresh talks"over the signing of"outstanding"£100m star

Liverpool have now reportedly “held fresh talks” with highly-rated Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton over a move to the club this summer.

It wasn’t a great day for the Englishman on Sunday afternoon, following a red card in the Eagles’ 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea in the Premier League.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t a special young talent, however, and Liverpool have been linked with a move for him many times in recent months.

Now, according to a new update from DaveOCKOP on X, the Reds are continuing to push hard in their efforts to sign Wharton, with the 21-year-old “keen” on the transfer:

“EXCL: Liverpool have held fresh talks over the signing of Adam Wharton. Wharton is keen on the move. There is confidence within Liverpool that Wharton will become a Liverpool player. Not done until it’s done of course.”

Wharton a perfect midfield addition for Liverpool

This is such an exciting update, given the quality that Wharton possesses, not to mention being a long-term option who will only grow as the years pass.

The Englishman oozes class in the middle of the park, from his technical ability to his reading of play, and England teammate Declan Rice has heaped praise on him:

“He’s been outstanding. In training, he impressed a lot of the players. He’s so composed and calm on the ball. He played his first half of the season in the Championship, he’s [come into the England team] from Crystal Palace now. He’s got a beautiful left foot, really crisp passing. And all round, just a really down-to-earth boy who wants to learn.”

Liverpool moving for Wharton is a no-brainer, even though some reports have valued him at a whopping £100m, given his vast potential.

Alexis Mac Allister has been a shadow of his former self this season, and there is no guarantee that he will remain at Anfield, with the Eagles maestro a potential ideal replacement.

Even if the Argentine stays, though, Wharton should be eyed up as a leading option, and the fact that he seemingly wants to join Liverpool this summer can only be a good thing.
