Hull City are in talks with Liverpool over a move to sign Lewis Koumas on loan before the winter transfer window closes next Monday night at 7pm.
Koumas has been on loan at Birmingham City in the first half of the season, but was restricted to just nine starts for the Blues and has since returned to Anfield after his move to the second city was cut short.
The Welsh international winger played 25 times in total for Birmingham in league and cup, scoring one goal. That solitary strike came in the 3-2 win over leaders Coventry City at the beginning of the month.

Hull Live understands talks with Liverpool are at an advanced stage, and the deal is nearing completion to bring the 20-year-old to the MKM Stadium for the remainder of the campaign, though a departure is almost certainly needed before it can be ratified by the EFL.
City were close to signing Koumas in the summer, but the deal didn't go through, and he ended up at St Andrew's, while the Tigers looked elsewhere in the market.
"Koumas is a very good player, a young player, with big potential, so we will see. We will see what will happen in the future," Jakirovic told Hull Live earlier in the season.
The wide player may not have played in the Premier League yet, but has amassed 66 appearances in the Championship. Forty-nine of those came for Stoke City, where he scored six times and registered three assists. He's also played nine times for Wales.
The Tigers have sprung into action in recent days, with the arrivals of Yu Hirakawa and Kieran Dowell, with both playing in Saturday's 2-1 win over Swansea City, their third victory in a row to keep them fourth in the Championship.
Sources have told Hull Live that deals for Paddy McNair and Toby Collyer are complete with both players expected to be announced later this week, and in the squad that will look to make it four straight wins at struggling Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
Another new arrival before next week's deadline can't yet be ruled out, while the club are also working to sanction exits to free up space in their squad.
