Roma have acknowledged discussions with Liverpool concerning Kostas Tsimikas' potential return, despite Andy Robertson now likely remaining at the club.
The Reds were previously positioned to potentially say goodbye to their experienced left-back following negotiations with Tottenham. Reports indicated that an agreement in principle had been reached between the two clubs, with the transfer expected to proceed following the completion of the Champions League group stages.
Nevertheless, this hinged on Liverpool strengthening its left-back options, with Tsimikas viewed as a possible candidate. The Greek defender is presently midway through a season-long loan spell with Roma in Italy. Roma's director, Frederic Massara, has subsequently acknowledged that discussions are continuing.

"They are all situations that are evolving, we are in a dialogue with Liverpool and we'll see how that evolves over the next few days," Massara said.
But Robertson is now expected to remain at Anfield, with any transfer having been called off, and it remains unclear whether the Reds will persist in their efforts to bring back Tsimikas.
Nevertheless, it seems that manager Arne Slot has achieved his objective regarding the Scottish defender, having voiced his intention to retain him at the club.

Speaking following the weekend's loss to Bournemouth, he said: "I think I need all my players.
"Robbo had to come in at half-time, in my opinion.
"I always knew that for Milos (Kerkez), another 90 minutes against a very intense Bournemouth side was not a possibility for him, so I knew I would have to bring (Robertson) in.
"I had already had one substitution in the first half, then you only have two moments left, so I thought, 'Let's bring Robbo in at half-time to make sure Milos stays available for the rest of the season.'
"There's a lot of games to be played with the players available. I have to manage that as well.

"The last thing we could need right now is another injury."
Meanwhile, captain Virgil van Dijk echoed Slot's desire to retain Robertson at the club. He said: "He's my vice-captain. Robbo is a very important member of our team, and I want him to stay, but whatever happens, let's see."
