Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is open to joining Manchester United, but has ruled out a return to Manchester City, according to journalist Samuel Luckhurst.
Palmer, praised as ‘the best number 10 in the world’, was born in Manchester, and moved to Chelsea back in 2023 after struggling to make the grade under Pep Guardiola. Palmer has been with the west London outfit for around two-and-a-half years now, developing into one of the best in the world in his position.
It feels unlikely that Chelsea would even consider offloading Palmer, especially after he signed a new contract in August 2024. The now-23-year-old extended his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033, penning a monumental nine-year deal.

According to journalist Luckhurst, Chelsea attacking midfielder Palmer is open to a 'sensational transfer' to Manchester United, with the England international unsettled in London. Palmer is believed to welcome any interest from his boyhood club United, but he would not entertain a return to their rivals City.
The report claims that Palmer misses his hometown of Wythenshawe, and he frequently returns to the North West to visit his family and friends.
