Hawks drop key update on Kristaps Porzingis and his Achilles injury

Kristaps Porzingis has resumed basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in a week, while fellow Hawk Zaccharie Risacher remains day-to-day after missing eight games with a knee injury.

Atlanta Hawks center Kristaps Porzingis, who has missed the past eight games with left Achilles tendinitis, has resumed basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week, the team officially announced.

Atlanta Hawks / Schedule

Atlanta acquired Porzingis from the Boston Celtics last July in a salary-dump deal.

Since joining the Hawks, the Latvian big man has battled injuries but has remained productive when available, averaging 17.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season.

The Hawks also provided an update on 2024 No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher.

The Frenchman has missed the last eight games due to a left knee bone contusion and will remain out for Monday's matchup against Indiana. His status is considered day-to-day moving forward.
