Man City are reportedly keeping tabs on a former Liverpool star, who has been one of the Premier League’s best while they've missed out on one target

Reports have suggested that Man City could make a move to sign a former Liverpool star, who is unsettled at the moment. They have also been battling PSG and Chelsea for a Spanish wonderkid.

Man City ‘keeping tabs’ on Trent Alexander-Arnold

In a move that would send shockwaves through the Premier League, fresh transfer reports claim that Man City have their eye on former Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has made just eight La Liga appearances since he left Anfield to join Real Madrid in the summer.

TeamTalk reports that there is uncertainty over Alexander-Arnold’s future at the Bernabeu, and they understand that Man City are keeping an eye on the England international’s situation, although a move for him would be very expensive.

It is understood that Alexander-Arnold wants to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place at the Spanish club, but if he keeps getting dropped, then it could push the 27-year-old to demand an exit.

No formal approach has been made from City, but they’re keeping an eye on Trent’s situation, as they are desperate to strengthen at right-back, as they never signed a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker, who joined Burnley in the summer.

Man City miss out on Barcelona wonderkid

Elsewhere, Man City have been scouting Barcelona wonderkid Dro Fernandez. The 18-year-old attacker has built a very strong reputation in Spain for being a future world-class star, and so it is no surprise that he’s been on the radar of several top clubs.

French journalist Marc Mechenoua shared late last week that Chelsea, Man City and Borussia Dortmund all wanted to sign Fernandez, but it is reported by Fabrizio Romano a medical is scheduled for Monday - and so looks set to join the Champions League winners, rather than coming to the Premier League.

He posted on X: “Dro, undergoing his medical at Paris Saint-Germain today ahead of €8m deal sealed with Barcelona.”

It is a blow for Man City, who are missing out on a real talent, as the 18-year-old has shone at every youth level for Barcelona. He has made five appearances for Hansi Flick’s first team, including one assist. Fernandez has also made a name for himself amongst the Spanish youth teams, as he’s appeared at Under-15s up to Under-18s level.
