Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Franco Mastantuono, William Saliba and Victor Valdepenas that you may have missed…
There have been some transfer rumours in the media which have claimed that Arsenal will now be able to possibly land one of the clubs long-term targets as Real Madrid are reportedly ready to let Franco Mastantuono leave the club at the end of the season.
According to Fichajes, Madrid might be prepared to listen to offers for Franco Mastantuono despite the Argentine youngster only arriving at the Estadio Bernabeu in August 2025. He was seen as one for the future and joined the club in a €45 million deal from River Plate
However – reports have claimed that he has been unable to settle into life in Madrid, has been unable to put in the kind of performances that prompted the Spaniards to make an offer, and is a player the club are open to letting leave.
ARSENAL were one of the clubs also eyeing Mastantuono before he chose Madrid and the Gunners remain admirers of the 18-year-old. It’s claimed that the Premier League giants might try testing the waters with a huge offer.
The Gunners like to add the best young players to their academy and hopefully try to turn them into big stars, of sell them on for far more money than was spent in the transfer window.

The Gunners wanted the young man before he moved to Madrid, ARSENAL were hoping that they could have convinced the lad to make the move to London, but he opted for Madrid and it seemingly has not worked out.
He was probably too young to come to Europe, and that is why he is struggled to adapt to life in Madrid. Coming to Arsenal could be the answer for the lad as he will be given the time and support he needs to really develop into a big named star
But it would be a shock to see him arrive at the Emirates, the Gunners now have targets that they are more interested in signing
VALDEPENAS BOOST
Arsenal have reportedly received encouragement regarding their rumoured pursuit of Real Madrid youngster, Victor Valdepenas, as they plot to make a move at the end ofr the current season.
Mikel Arteta has spent wisely over the past few transfer windows, added players to the squad that have turned them into the favourites to win the Premier League ahead of Manchester City and the rest.
Recent speculation has suggested that Valdepenas has emerged as a potential target for the club’s summer shopping list. The 19-year-old made his debut for Los Blancos last month and is held in high regard by the Spanish powerhouses – which could complicate a potential transfer.
Reports indicate a £44m release clause has been inserted into the fresh terms he penned recently, with that deal running until 2029. Elsewhere, Football365 claim that Xabi Alonso’s departure from Madrid has ‘damaged’ the defender’s prospects.
It is suggested he feels ‘let down’ by new manager Alvaro Arbeloa amid ‘keen interest’ from ARSENAL. Valdepenas has reportedly been presented with opportunities to switch clubs before the January window closes, but may wait until the summer.

We would be shocked to see ARSENAL make any big time signings this transfer window, Mikel Arteta is very happy with the squad and the stars that would improve the side would cost some serious money.
Valdepenas is a very talented young player that many teams have started to admire, but the idea that he could leave Madrid so early after making his debut for the club, that would be a massive surprise.
But to be honest, if the lad does leave Madrid and wants to further his career, a move to Arsenal would suit him massively.
ARTETA SENDS SALIBA MESSAGE
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal star William Saliba is still a long way from realising his full potential and is adamant he will ‘reach new levels’ in the years to come.
The France international joined ARSENAL from St Etienne seven years ago in a £27million move and was expected to make an instant impact at the north London club, but he was sent out on a number of loans before he was finally given a first team opportunity at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
Now 24, Saliba is approaching the peak of his career and Arteta is adamant there is plenty more to come from a player who committed his long-term future to Arsenal by signing a long-term contract last year.
‘That’s something we have to continue to evolve the game will change the opponent will adapt and we have to find other ways to help them,’ said Arteta when asked if Saliba had been demonstrating anew side to his game in recent weeks, particularly in possession.
‘The backline is going to have to take more responsibility to break teams down and especially in the way most teams set up against us they’re going to be really important.’
‘He really wants it and I think he will go to different levels in the next few years.
‘In both boxes he can be much better and then everything that goes from box to box in his leadership, in the way he commands the line and the way he makes adjustments to the backline.
‘There is a lot and with Gabi they found a great partnership but he can form other partnerships as well and his status in the team has to grow.’

Saliba is already a world class defender and will get alot better, so ARSENAL fans will just be hoping that the French star stays at the Emirates and develops into this superstar player that Arteta is talking about
