Liverpool certainly haven’t been one of the busier Premier League clubs in the January window. Having won the league during Arne Slot’s first season in charge, the Reds went on a big investment spree in the summer.
Currently sixth in the Premier League, that investment hasn’t quite paid off at Anfield yet. Alexander Isak’s long term injury hasn’t helped, and Florian Wirtz isn’t yet in full flow despite showing some promising signs.
Liverpool will hope their summer investment pays off in the future. The target this season in the league will be to qualify for next season’s Champions League and take things from there.
Joining in the summer, and surely with the hope the Reds will achieve that, is Ifeanyi Ndukwe. The defender is currently with Austria Vienna, and doesn’t turn 18 until March.
Due to post-Brexit changes he’s only able to arrive at Anfield in the summer.
Ndukwe is already excited about the transfer, and has spoken to Sky Austria about his happiness. The youngster made sure to thank his agents, and, of course, his family who have helped him along the way.
Sky Austria quote the defender as saying: “The transfer to Liverpool is a dream come true for me. I would like to sincerely thank my family, Austria Vienna, and my agency, More Than Sport. Everyone has supported and prepared me for this moment. Now I want to compete against the best in the world.”
