Liverpool team news ahead of the Champions League fixture against Qarabag at Anfield.

Liverpool turn their attention to the Champions League when they welcome Qarabag to Anfield on Wednesday.

Arne Slot make take solace from a return to Europe - with the Reds’ Premier League struggles continuing. Liverpool are winless in their past five league games, most recently suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Slot admitted that his side were feeling the impact of the busy fixture schedule but there is little time to rest before the Qarabag clash. Liverpool head into match-day eight of the Champions League knowing that a victory over the Azerbaijani champions will secure a top-eight finish in the league phase - and grant automatic qualification into the last 16.

Certainly, avoiding the play-off knockout phase will be something Liverpool are desperate to avoid. They can ill-afford to cramp two more fixtures into the calendar. There is already little room.

And heading into the Qarabag clash, Slot is set to have a depleted squad once ahead. Ahead of the game, here’s a look at the latest team news for Liverpool.

Liverpool team news

Conor Bradley - out

The right-back sustained a serious knee injury in a 0-0 draw at Arsenal earlier this month and won’t play again this season.

Giovanni Leoni - out

The centre-back continues his recovery from a ruptured ACL he suffered four months ago.

Alexander Isak - out

The striker is still rehabbing a broken leg. The £125 million British record signing is not expected to be available for a couple more months.

Jayden Danns - out

The young striker is still on the comeback trail from a hamstring issue.

Stefan Bajcetic - out

The midfielder is still to make a single appearance at any level this season. Bajcetic suffered a hamstring problem on loan at Las Palmas last term and recently hit a setback in his recovery.

Calvin Ramsay - out

The right-back has not been registered in Liverpool’s Champions League squad so he is ineligible. Ramsay was an unused substitute against Bournemouth.

Joe Gomez - doubt

The versatile defender picked up a problem when colliding with goalkeeper Alisson Becker trying to stop Bournemouth’s first goal. Gomez appeared to sustain an impact injury rather than a muscle issue so that could mean he is back.

Ibrahima Konate - doubt

The centre-back has been absent for the past two games. Konate has been granted compassionate leave following the passing of his father. It remains to be seen whether Konate will be back to face Qarabag.

Federico Chiesa - minor doubt

The forward was pulled out of Liverpool’s squad after warming up at Marseille and did not feature against Bournemouth. Slot has not been too concerned about Chiesa’s issue but he might again be sidelined.
