After a funky few months of the regular season, the Cleveland Cavaliers (27-20) have found their spark again. In their past 10 games, Cleveland has a 7-3 record.
As they look to take on the Orlando Magic (23-21) for a second straight game on Monday, Cleveland's name continues to be thrown around in trade talks.
According to reports, defensive specialist Dean Wade has been receiving interest from a large list of teams.
Report: Cavs receiving trade interest in Dean Wade
Wade, 29, is set to take on free agency while playing on his final season of a three-year, $18.5 million deal.
The contract that is linked to him would be easy to move, but there's uncertainty behind the Cavaliers' willingness to do so.
Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported that there are at least 10 different teams throughout the NBA that have called the Cavaliers regarding a trade involving Dean Wade.
However, Cleveland has stayed consistent in saying no to teams.
A lot of the interest in the forward comes from his ability to guard multiple positions on the court. Some nights, he will defend a guard/forward, and others he will take the assignment of guarding a center.
At 6-foot-9 and 228 pounds, the Kansas State product has spent all seven years of his NBA career with the Cavaliers. In 321 appearances during his time in the league, Wade has career averages of 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting a consistent 42.6 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three.
After finding their groove again, head coach Kenny Atkinson and the rest of the Cavs' team seem unsure about wanting to partake in trades with less than two weeks to do so.
