Will Anthony Davis be traded before the deadline?

Anthony Davis is unlikely to be traded before the February 5 deadline due to injuries and a hefty contract.

With the NBA trade deadline just 10 days away, it looks unlikely that Dallas Mavericks star big man Anthony Davis will be on the move, according to Christian Clark of The Athletic.

Davis had been considered one of the top names on this year's trade market, but he has been sidelined since January 8 with ligament damage in his left hand.

His injury raises questions about whether he can stay healthy enough for another team to take a major gamble on him.

The injuries have already caused AD to miss 26 of the Mavericks' 46 games this season.

On top of that, his contract could make a trade even more complicated. He's set to earn $58.5 million next season, with a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28, and he will be eligible for an extension on August 6 -- whether from Dallas or a new team.

This season, the 32-year-old is averaging 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
