Arsenal have merely seven more days to complete signings before the transfer window shuts on Monday.
The Gunners are yet to make a solitary move to bolster their squad this winter. They have been equally quiet in offloading players this month. Ethan Nwaneri, who has joined Marseille on loan, is the sole departure so far. Oleksandr Zinchenko is also due to link up with Ajax from the Gunners via Nottingham Forest, with his deal expiring at the conclusion of this campaign.
Departures seem more probable than any arrivals over the coming week. football.london summarises the latest Arsenal transfer news...
Ethan Nwaneri's future 'very clear'
Marseille president Pablo Longoria has conceded that incorporating a permanent signing clause for Ethan Nwaneri in their loan agreement with Arsenal was never going to happen. He told The Telegraph: "Let's say a very clear thing – an option to buy is unrealistic.
"He's one of the main assets for the future of Arsenal. The value for us is his talent and his sporting performances.
"For Arsenal, it's contributing to the gameplay, and for the player, a step in growing up and being coached by Roberto. Longoria added: "Our coach, Roberto De Zerbi, is a good incentive, he's recognised as one of the most creative coaches in Europe, and that kind of thing for the players is important.
"And from Ethan, we expect joy; shared joy, because with a young diamond, a super talent like this, the most important thing is that he will be free mentally. So, this is joy. To create the right environment for him to perform and enjoy football."

Long-serving academy player out on trial
One of Arsenal's longest-standing academy players, Osman Kamara, featured for Blackburn Rovers' under-21s in a Premier League 2 fixture on Monday afternoon. Listed as "A Trialist" by Rovers, their opposition, Birmingham City, did not conceal his identity.
Kamara entered the fray at the interval as a substitute and netted in a comprehensive 5-0 victory. Blackburn's match report reads: "Rovers brought on A Trialist for Nathan Dlamini at the interval, and within five minutes of the restart, the change had the desired effect.
"Lucas Houghton swung over a cross from the right, and the Trialist flicked the ball home at the far post." Just over a week prior, Kamara had started for Arsenal's Under-21s and completed 75 minutes in a crushing 7-0 defeat to Liverpool.

He is currently in the final year of his maiden professional deal, signed during the summer of 2024. Kamara arrived at Arsenal aged eight, with May marking 12 years at the club.
Nevertheless, a departure now seems probable at the conclusion of this campaign, with the 19-year-old undergoing trials with alternative sides. The practice is a regular one for academy players due to be released.
