The Milwaukee Bucks have hit a rough stretch during the 2025-26 season, with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined once again as trade speculation continues to surround the franchise.
The Bucks sit well below the Eastern Conference playoff cutoff, and any realistic path toward a win now move has faded further in the aftermath of their star’s latest injury.
Recently, TrueHoop’s Henry Abbott reported that Antetokounmpo has shown interest in finding a new situation, adding another layer to the uncertainty surrounding his future in Milwaukee.
“Giannis was close to firing his longtime agent Alex Saratsis over his failure to get Giannis traded from the Bucks,” Abbott wrote.
Abbott also mentioned a possible candidate who could step in as Antetokounmpo’s new agent if Saratsis were to part ways with him.
Can Giannis Antetokounmpo replace his agent with Rich Paul?

“Rich Paul of Klutch Sports not only has a tendency to talk about Giannis, but also–multiple sources agree–has been talking to Giannis’s brother Thanasis as of late. Rich, it seems clear, would like to represent Giannis, and (despite what’s happening with Anthony Davis in Dallas) is said to have been making the case that he’s the guy who can get a star player where he wants to go.”
Indeed, Paul has been known over the years for using his leverage in the league, most of which stems from his association with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, to get his clients to their–or his–preferred destinations, and it’s easy to see why that might be appealing to Antetokounmpo at the present moment.

“Two excellent NBA sources suggest that this kind of agent subterfuge is a constant undertone of NBA life, and it’s not worth worrying about. Two others believe there’s a very real chance that Giannis will soon have a new agent,” Abbott continued.
At the same time, questions are emerging about how Antetokounmpo’s growing injury concerns, which have intensified in recent seasons, could impact what the Bucks might receive in a trade. His ability to reach free agency in the 2027 offseason adds another layer of complexity to any potential deal.
Regardless, the Bucks have a great deal to address as they approach the February 5 NBA trade deadline.
