Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews that you may have missed…
Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United during the summer window, to help solve the clubs defensive issues.
That CHELSEA board have been very active in the transfer market over the past few windows, have signed alot of players that they believe could drive the club into an era of dominance.
However – Chelsea still have a number of issues that they need to solve in that back-line, as the current crop of players have let in far too many goals that the club would like, and have alot more developing to do before the Blues challenge for that Premier League.
And as reported by TEAMtalk, Chelsea’s top priorities this transfer window is find a new centre-back, and while Rennes’ Jeremy Jacquet is also in the running, the Blues are also keen to add an experience player to the side.
And that has led to reports in the media that CHELSEA are very much open to the idea of trying to sign Harry Maguire from Man United
IcChelseanews says…
If the reports are true and the club wants to sign Maguire, he will be brilliant to have in the dressing room for a season or two, he is a winner, a leader and a massive person to have around in that dressing room.
However – the way that the CHELSEA board like to sign players that have market value and can sign massive contracts, it does not really make sense to bring Maguire to the club for a year or so.
CHELSEA SIGNS ALAO
Chelsea have now confirmed that they have completed the signing of left-back Yisa Alao from Sheffield Wednesday, and beat off a number of clubs to secure the talented young star.
Over the past few transfer windows, CHELSEA have been linked with some of the games very best young players, and the board have also managed to complete some of those transfer signings.
The January window has been pretty quiet for Chelsea over the past few weeks, but it seems that Chelsea are now in pole position to sign him for a high six-figure fee, according to The Sheffield Star.
The 17-year-old wing-back has been courted by some of England’s biggest clubs including the Blues, Manchester United and Arsenal, but the reports claim that the Blues are closing in on a deal for the talented young star.
A club statement on Monday confirmed that Alao has moved to Stamford Bridge on a deal until 2028, The statement read: ‘Chelsea is pleased to announce the signing of Yisa Alao, with the left-back agreeing a contract with the Blues until 2028.
‘The 17-year-old came through Sheffield Wednesday’s academy and made his senior debut for the Owls in August. Alao has since played four more games, starting Wednesday’s recent FA Cup tie against Brentford and Championship match against Portsmouth.
‘Welcome to CHELSEA, Yisa!’
IcChelseanews Says…
Yisa Alao is a talent that CHELSEA have been keeping a close eye on over the past few months, he is a player that the board feel can come to the club and potential develop into a very good player.
We are not sure that he will even get the chance to play in the first team, we are not sure whether or not he will spend alot of time out on loan, but it will be a dream move for the lad to make and one that i hope really works out, we see far too many talents signed by big clubs and then get forgotten about because the move came too soon, lets seek how this one plays out.
DIOMANDE FEE SET
Chelsea have been warned it will take a club-record fee to sign RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande during the upcoming summer transfer window, as the Blues continue to be linked with the attacker.
Diomande has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining RB Leipzig from CD Leganes this past summer. and he 19-year-old has been one of the most productive attackers for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 16 outings in all competitions thus far
Sky Sports claim a €100m price-tag is putting the likes of CHELSEA and other interested clubs off making a bid this January. They would rather secure a deal in the region of €60m–70m (£52m-60.6m).
But this doesn’t seem likely after a recent statement from Oliver Mintzlaff, chairman of Red Bull’s supervisory board.
“As chairman of the supervisory board, I can confidently say he will definitely remain with us next season — even if an offer of €80m or €90m were to come in,” he told Sky Sports Germany.
IcChelseanews Says…
The money that is being talked about for Diomande is well over £80 million, he has been brilliant for the German side this season and his quality and age is why that valuation is so high.
Diomande would bring energy, hunger and a desire with him that we have seen a number of stars lack over the course of the season, but he would not be much better than what we already have at the club.
Maybe the German side will get that asking price they are demanding, but we are just hoping the CHELSEA board dont splash that amount of cash.
