Manchester United climbed into the Premier League's top four after a 3-2 win against league leaders Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta's side took the lead but never really demonstrated a control of the match and United pegged them back, with the scores level at 1-1 at the break.
Patrick Dorgu scored a great goal to put **Michael Carrick's**side in front early in the second half. Dorgu then had to go off injured but Carrick replaced him with striker Benjamin Sesko in an attacking substitution.
Mikel Merino equalised for The Gunners and this sparked the home crowd into life. It looked as though they would then see out the draw.
However, Matheus Cunha scored in the 87th minute to seal a 3-2 win for United.
Here are four takeaways from the game.
Bryan Mbeumo has returned from **AFCON**and has two goals in two games for United. He is playing as the lead striker in Carrick's system and is showing his quality with some important goals.
He made it 1-1 less than ten minutes after the home side had took the lead and it was a significant strike as usually when Arsenal go in front they look to assert their dominance but United did not let that happen. It is the first match that they have lost this season when scoring first.
Mbuemo's recent form outlines just how much the team may have missed him during the festive period when he was away at AFCON.
Another player who has scored back-to-back goals is Patrick Dorgu. Under **Ruben Amorim,**Dorgu was often played at left wing-back and this did not always appear to be a position where he looked comfortable.
Dorgu put in a good showing against Newcastle United at home in December but defensively he was not always what United needed.
Whereas, going forward as a winger, he is now looking a threat under Carrick.
He had to go off in the second half due to injury but there will be a hope that he is not out for long.
United demonstrated a level of resilience and a strong mentality
The performance was one that may bring confidence as United kept on going right until the end and got the result that their effort warranted.
Particularly after conceding the late equaliser, they could have been forgiven for settling for a draw but Carrick's side were hungry for the win.
They are also playing an attack-minded game and it is leading to them creating plenty of chances and delivering entertaining performances. Carrick's substitutions were attack-minded and contributed towards the mentality that got them the win.
His side have not been phased by the quality of Manchester City or Arsenal and have shown great character and fight. These are qualities that some would say United have been lacking in recent years. They did not fold under any pressure and every player knew their job.
Where do they go from here?
It is a result that puts them in the top four and, given the opponents they have played in their last two matches, there will be a growing confidence around the club.
They will know that they are capable of finishing in the top four and still having a successful season.
Under Amorim, draws against West Ham, Leeds United and Wolves were disappointing yet six points from the last two games has them looking up the table.
There remains a lot of football to be played but the results and the performances will suggest that Carrick can get results with this side.
After last week's success, the challenge would be to back it up this week again but he did just that. It will mean that people may start to take notice of United and fear what they are doing at the moment. Confidence can be the difference maker at times.
