Besiktas make approach to sign Liverpool left-back

Besiktas have been filling the newspaper columns for their transfer activity over the past few days.

One of the key contributors to that is Tammy Abraham.

The former Chelsea striker has been on loan from Italian giants AS Roma, but has been highly linked with a move back to England and to Aston Villa.

Villa are riding high in the English Premier League table and are looking to bring reinforcements to help them push on to further success.

As part of their agreement for Abraham, Besiktas had a purchase option on the player.

That purchase option has now been signed and Tammy Abraham is now a Besiktas player.

However, this is all likely just a way to enable a sale to Aston Villa, where Besiktas will be looking to make a profit on the £11m they’ve spent to sign the England striker.

That’s not the only transfer merry-go-round that seems to be in play with Besiktas and Roma.

It is now believed that they’ve made an approach to sign another player linked with Roma that also has ties to England.

Ben Jacobs reports that Besiktas have made an approach to Liverpool to sign Kostas Tsimikas on loan.

Tsimikas is currently out on loan in Italy with Roma, but the Rome giants have made it clear that they won’t release the Greek international without a ready made replacement.

From his side, it appears that Kostas Tsimikas is also not keen on the move either.

Jacobs reports that Tsimikas would only want to return to Liverpool if he were to leave Roma.

Liverpool have their own left-back transfer drama that they’re dealing with at present.

Tottenham Hotspur reached an agreement to sign Andy Robertson with Liverpool, only for The Reds to rethink that deal as they are light in that area of the pitch themselves.

Whether Tsimikas is thinking that Robertson departing might open to the door for him back at Anfield is a question to be asked.

Whatever the case may be, it appears that Besiktas will be thwarted in their attempts to sign the player for themselves.

Exclusive: Besiktas also made an approach to Liverpool to loan Kostas Tsimikas.

Not a move the player is open to at this stage. Roma also made it clear they won’t sanction an exit without a replacement.
