Derrick Rose’s No. 1 jersey officially now hangs in the rafters of the United Center following the former NBA MVP’s jersey retirement ceremony that was held last Saturday.
This meant there was only one thing left to do for beloved Chicago Bulls mascot, ‘Benny the Bull.’

It has been revealed that ‘Benny the Bull’ will be making a number change and thus moving forward, he will be wearing the No. 99 instead of Rose’s iconic number.

From 1 to 99
The news was shared by Benny on social media in a post that shows a picture of him wearing a No. 99 jersey along with the words: “I got 99 problems but my number ain’t 1!”

What a true, absolute legend!
Benny’s number switch was previously teased with a number of videos that sure would have kept Bulls fans guessing and on the edge of their seat.

Well now, Benny has ended the suspense, and the city of Chicago and the entire league now knows that there will be a new No. 99 gracing the floor of the United Center.
Quite frankly, I’m not sure if we have had a bigger star wear the No. 99 since the days of George Mikan.
