Arsenal 'Ramping Up' Interest In £60m Liverpool Target As Martinelli To Saudi Links Grow

Arsenal are reportedly ramping up their interest in a winger, as reports suggest Gabriel Martinelli could move to the Saudi Pro League.

The Gunners haven’t made any significant moves in the January transfer window. They have only loaned Ethan Nwaneri out to French side Marseille in an attempt to get him more game time, but more could be on the way.

According to the Mirror, Saudi Pro League teams have stepped up their interest in Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, who has been replaced in Mikel Arteta’s XI this season by an impressive Leandro Trossard.

If Martinelli were to leave, then Arsenal would have to replace him, and reports have said they could go for a £60m Liverpool target.

Arsenal ramp up Barcola interest

One of the Gunners’ potential Martinelli replacements is PSG winger Bradley Barcola, who has been linked with a move to rivals Liverpool too.

The Mirror report that Barcola has emerged high on Arsenal’s wishlist of Martinelli replacements, and so they could look to make a move for him, should the Brazilian winger leave this month.

Barcola has made 27 appearances for PSG this season, scoring seven goals, and providing four assists, he won’t come cheap, as he has an estimated market value of around £60m.

Yan Diomande also of interest

Barcola isn’t the only winger the Gunners have been linked to, as they are also keen on RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Man United.

Diomande (19) is younger than Barcola (23), and so he is expected to be more expensive based on his potential, as reports have suggested the Gunners would have to pay as much as £78m to land him.

Either way, if Martinelli does leave, it looks like Barcola and Diomande are Arsenal’s two first choice wingers to replace him with.
