Report: Crystal Palace have now turned their attention to another Chelsea player after Josh Acheampong interest

Crystal Palace have seemingly turned to Chelsea in their bid to replace Marc Guehi.

Guehi, who initially joined Palace from Chelsea in 2021, completed a move to Manchester City last week.

It has left Oliver Glasner in need of a new central defender, a position that Liam Rosenior is also looking to strengthen this month.

Chelsea want to bring in Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, but the French club are playing hardball, refusing to sell the 20-year-old.

Crystal Palace keeping tabs on Axel Disasi

Last week, Sky Sports reported that Palace have identified Josh Acheampong as a potential target, but they are now being linked with a move for Axel Disasi.

According to talkSPORT, the Eagles are keeping tabs on Disasi ahead of next Monday’s transfer deadline.

Disasi has been training with the first team again, but the Frenchman still has no future at Chelsea, who already have plenty of centre-back options and are still trying to strengthen there.

Is there a way back for Axel Disasi at Chelsea?

Or do the Blues just need to cut their losses? 👀

As well as Acheampong, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo are also central defenders.

Rosenior has Levi Colwill, too, though the England international is still out with an ACL injury. It means Palace have a shot at signing Disasi, though they have little hope of landing Acheampong.

Chelsea’s stance on Josh Acheampong

Acheampong has not been an automatic starter at Stamford Bridge this season. In total, he has made just six starts in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, Chelsea’s stance is that Acheampong is not for sale, which will be music to the ears of supporters.

How much would you SELL Acheampong for? 😤

It would have to be a hefty price…

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the team’s most promising players. Chelsea fans do not want to see him leave the club.

In fact, throughout the campaign, many have called for Acheampong to get more opportunities. However, under Enzo Maresca, those cries fell on deaf ears.

Under Rosenior, maybe things will be different. Chelsea supporters will be hoping for that to be the case anyway.
