CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Charlotte Hornets) - The NBA announced Monday that Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel was selected among the field of players scheduled to participate in the Castrol Rising Stars game at NBA All-Star 2026 in Los Angeles.
Knueppel is the first Hornet to participate in Rising Stars since Brandon Miller in 2023-24 and the 16th player in Hornets history to be selected for the event.
Knueppel is second among rookies in scoring at 18.7 points per game and ranks third league-wide in 3-pointers made (151) through 47 games played. The Duke product has claimed back-to-back Rookie of the Month awards to begin the season and became the fastest player to reach 100 career 3-pointers made on Dec. 22 (29 games), breaking the previous record (Lauri Markkanen, 41 games) 12 games faster. In today’s 37-point win over Philadelphia, Knueppel became the fastest player to reach 150 career 3-pointers made, beating Keegan Murray’s record of 59 games in his 46th game.
Knueppel is one of two players in the NBA this season averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 42% from 3-point range, the other being Nikola Jokic. When facing off against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 31, 2025, Knueppel broke Curry’s rookie record for most 20-point games on 50/40/90 shooting splits (12). Knueppel was originally selected as the fourth overall selection in the 2025 NBA Draft.
