“I need to” – Liam Rosenior provides update on forgotten £15.6m Chelsea star

Liam Rosenior has revealed Aaron Anselmino is due back at Chelsea on Thursday or Friday and he’s due to have a conversation with the Argentine.

Chelsea activated their recall clause to bring Anselmino back from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, something the German club are reportedly unhappy with.

It’s unclear what Chelsea’s plans are for Anselmino, and there’s a chance he might not be a part of the squad for the second half of the season.

Chelsea are looking to bring a centre back in this month and have been heavily linked with Rennes youngster Jeremy Jacquet.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also interested in the 20-year-old, with Rennes reportedly wanting £60m to let one of their top talents leave.

Anselmino made his Chelsea debut at the Club World Cup.

Anselmino coming back gives Chelsea an option if they can’t get another deal over the line, whilst they also reportedly have a recall option in Mamadou Sarr’s loan at Strasbourg.

There’s a video showing Anselmino in tears as he says goodbye to his teammates in Germany, and Rosenior has now spoken about the Argentine for the first time.

“I’m due to have a conversation with Aaron,” he told his pre-match press conference.

“He is due back on Thursday or Friday.

“I need to have a conversation with him about our future plans.”

Chelsea looking to find new club for Axel Disasi

Whilst Anselmino could play a part for the remainder of the season, one player who’s unlikely to do that is Axel Disasi.

The Frenchman hasn’t played for the Blues for over a year, and has attracted interested from West Ham and Crystal Palace.
