Liverpool in negotiations over 19-year-old–2 sources on exit talks

Liverpool are weighing up options for one of their young forwards. FC Porto just emerged as a possible short-term destination for academy ace Keyrol Figueroa.

According to local newspaperA Bola, the Portuguese club are in talks with Liverpool over a loan move for Figueroa until the end of the season. Discussions are said to be ongoing. The move is seen as a way to give the 19-year-old regular football in a more demanding environment.

Record, another Portuguese newspaper, also report Liverpool and Porto are in negotiations.

Figueroa may not be a familiar name for most fans yet, but he has impressed at youth level. The forward has scored ten goals in 13 appearances for Liverpool’s under-21s this season. In addition, he has made three outings in the UEFA Youth League, underlining his growing influence within the academy setup.

Although his current deal expires in June, Liverpool are reportedly planning to extend his contract. A loan would then fit naturally into that strategy, offering experience outside England while keeping the club in control of his development.

Porto’s interest comes as they continue to look for attacking options following the long-term injury to Luuk de Jong.

The report also highlights that Figueroa recently joined P&P Sport Management, the agency run by Federico Pastorello.

For now, nothing is decided, but the youngster’s next step is clearly being shaped behind the scenes – and Portugal is now a likely destination.
