With Nikola Jokic expected to miss at least another week due to his knee injury, he will no longer be eligible for end-of-season awards, having missed more than 17 games this season.
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic will most likely miss out on the NBA’s end-of-season awards following his latest injury update.
Denver Nuggets / Schedule
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Jokic is expected to miss "about a week" due to the injury.
Jokic has already missed 14 games this season, out of the 17 he could potentially miss and still remain eligible for the awards.
The Nuggets will play four games this week, which means that if Jokic doesn’t step on the court even for a moment in any of those games, he will no longer be eligible for the awards, with the maximum number of games he could reach being 64.
The Serbian big man had been having another historic season before the injury, averaging a triple-double with 29.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 11.0 assists per game.
Even without Jokic, the Nuggets have remained among the top teams in the Western Conference, currently sitting third with a 31-15 record.
