Yet according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, James didn't actually ask the Lakers to draft Bronny for the No. 55 pick.

Per Shelburne, the Lakers chose Bronny as they believe he has potential, and the particular selection would specifically satisfy LeBron. And beyond LA, teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns also emerged as interested teams in the young guard.

As such, the viral ESPN report by Baxter Holmes revealed that one of Jeanie Buss’ frustrations with LeBron is her perceived lack of gratitude for the Lakers drafting Bronny two years ago.

Similar to his rookie season, Bronny hasn't played much this 2025-26. He only logged 6.9 minutes in 24 games played.

He suited up in three games so far for the South Bay Lakers, averaging 17.0 points, 5.7 assists, 2.7 boards and 1.3 steals in 62.5 percent shooting.
