Despite Austin Reaves trending closer and closer to full health, that return won’t come against the Cavs. The Lakers have Reaves listed as out for the team’s stop in Cleveland on Wednesday.
Adou Thiero also remains out. Those are the only two players listed on the team’s injury report.
However, that was clearly not set in stone. Considering how quickly he reaggravated the injury after his recent return, taking their time on his return is the right call, even if fans want to see him on the court.
The Lakers are only halfway through this road trip, so there are still plenty of opportunities for Reaves to still return before the team returns to LA. The next stop will be in Washington on Friday before two games in New York, one against the Knicks on Sunday before wrapping up the road trip in Brooklyn on Tuesday.
The day between games each time should let Austin get in a rhythm and the relative lack of travel over the final three games helps, too. As frustrating as it is for fans to not get to see Reaves return yet, it’s coming soon.
