"No sign off": Tottenham in limbo as Euro club stalls over £5m deal despite agreeing terms in…

**Tottenham Hotspur’s ongoing pursuit of Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has hit another snag in what is becoming a frustrating transfer saga.**

According to [Ben Jacobs](https://x.com/JacobsBen/status/2016084696245928204?s=20), Tottenham already have an agreement in principle with their Premier League rivals. But there is no sign off from Liverpool, who are dragging their heels.

Negotiations seemed to be going smoothly, with each party handling the situation with the utmost respect. But neither Liverpool nor Robertson have given the green light for the transfer to proceed.

Tottenham’s interest in the experienced defender has developed quickly over the past few days, with the North Londoners struggling with several injury setbacks.

[They are understood to have agreed terms](https://whiteheartlane.com/tottenham-are-working-on-a-deal-to-sign-liverpool-defender-andrew-robertson/) in principle worth around £5 million, including add-ons.

However, Liverpool will only allow the Scotland international to abruptly end his nine-year spell at Anfield if they can bring in a suitable replacement.

Liverpool were initially willing to allow Robertson leave mid-season rather than losing him on a free transfer when his contract runs out in the summer.

However, it’s worth noting that they’re not forcing the 31-year-old out of the club and are more than happy to let him see out the remainder of his contract.

Tottenham’s persistence may yet pay off, but not at the expense of Liverpool depleting their squad, particularly with Arne Slot’s side struggling with a few injuries of their own.

Liverpool planned to recall Konstantinos Tsimikas from his underwhelming loan spell at AS Roma.

But that move is complicated, given that they didn’t add a recall clause in the deal that moved the Greek left-back to Stadio Olimpico in the Italian capital.

While Tsimikas has hardly impressed enough to earn a permanent move to Italy, Roma are unwilling to sanction his return unless they find a replacement.

Tottenham are hoping to wrap up the deal in the final few days of the winter transfer window, but it remains to be seen how far this transfer merry-go-round will go.
