Report: Chelsea ace who’s 'impressed' Liam Rosenior is now expected to remain at club

There could be a couple of exits at Chelsea before the transfer window closes next Monday.

Raheem Sterling is finally expected to leave Stamford Bridge, while Axel Disasi could also depart.

It is being reported that Crystal Palace are one club who are keen on Disasi after initially showing some interest in teammate Josh Acheampong.

It would have to be a hefty price…

However, there is one Chelsea star who is now unlikely to leave Liam Rosenior‘s side in this transfer window.

Filip Jorgensen expected to stay at Chelsea

Back in November, it was claimed that Filip Jorgensen wanted a Chelsea exit to boost his chances of making Denmark’s World Cup squad.

Under Enzo Maresca, the goalkeeper barely played, with Robert Sanchez being the Italian’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Sanchez is still the No.1 at Chelsea, but Rosenior has given Jorgensen some opportunities, and it now looks like the 23-year-old will be staying at Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Sports, Jorgensen has attracted interest from clubs in England, Germany and Turkey this month but is expected to remain in west London.

Does Jorgensen deserve to start over Sanchez?

At the beginning of January, Chelsea reportedly received an offer for Jorgensen from Turkish side Besiktas.

The Blues take on Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but with that being a must-win game, Rosenior is likely to start Sanchez over Jorgensen.

Filip Jorgensen has ‘impressed’ Liam Rosenior

Under Maresca, Jorgensen did make some mistakes in goal. However, the former Villarreal man has been quite solid in the couple of matches that he has played since Rosenior’s arrival.

As Rosenior discussed the injury that Jorgensen picked up against Pafos last week, he said: “Devastated for him, because he’s really impressed me, not just the game at Charlton, but in training, too.”

While Jorgensen is set to stay at Chelsea this month, he could leave the Club World Cup winners at the end of the season.

Chelsea may decide to integrate Mike Penders into their first-team squad following his loan at Strasbourg, which could push Jorgensen further down the goalkeeper pecking order at Stamford Bridge and ultimately out of the exit door.
