Grizzlies owner's company allegedly tied to Russia's war against Ukraine

Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera's company, Ubiquiti, has been allegedly involved in Russia's drone war against Ukraine. Per Hunterbrook, Ubiquiti's systems help Russian drones precisely coordinate strikes against Ukrainian civilians.

Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera's company, Ubiquiti, has been involved in Russia's drone war against Ukraine, according to Hunterbrook's report.

Pera is the founder and CEO of Ubiquiti, a networking technology company that develops long-range wireless equipment to extend internet connectivity.

Allegations of Ubiquiti's Military Use in Ukraine

In the latest Pablo Torre Finds Out episode, Hunterbrook investigative reporter Sam Koppelman was among the guests, revealing that a specific Ubiquiti radio bridge antenna was allegedly identified in Russia's military communications infrastructure.

"What we found is that the Ubiquiti radio bridge antennae serve critical communication needs for the Russian military," Hunterbrook investigative reporter Sam Koppelman said. "Experts told us this technology enables precision drone strikes against Ukrainian civilians, the types of attacks the United Nations has described as crimes against humanity."

Koppelman also talked to a Ukrainian soldier in the war zone, who noted that without Ubiquiti's systems, the Russian drones would be flying blind.

Meanwhile, in its report, Hunterbrook claims it identified at least nine Russian military units or individuals associated with those units using Ubiquiti equipment in Ukraine, based on a review of Telegram posts and open-source materials.

Sanctions and Supply Chains

Hunterbrook also claims it has gratitude letters from a Russian Ubiquiti vendor, in which the Russian military thanks them for the technology.

The current U.S. sanctions prohibit trade and financial transactions with specific countries, including Russia.

However, Hunterbrook's reporter found nearly a dozen Russian stores ready to supply the troops with Ubiquiti equipment.

Robert Pera's Wealth and Ownership

Ubiquiti is valued at around $33 billion as of January 2026, while Pera's net worth is estimated at $26.6 billion, per Forbes.

Pera bought the Grizzlies for $377 million in 2012, becoming the youngest NBA owner at that time at 34.
