Recent results have not been good enough for Everton, but there have still been some solid individual performances put in.

More is going to be needed in the final days of the January transfer window if Moyes is to lead the Blues to a European finish, though.

Earlier in the month, Moyes admitted Everton may not make any signings in January because of how the market usually unfolds.

ā€œI think it means a lot to the supporters as well. Obviously, we’ve got England’s number one goalkeeper and hopefully we can get some more.ā€

Everton fans have been so impressed with Garner and the midfielder’s development can be seen through his new contract.

However, he will face some serious competition if he is to secure a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the very first time ahead of the summer’s World Cup.

Garner faces Declan Rice competition for England call-up

Earlier in the season, Tuchel was spotted speaking to Garner following the victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old is, however, competing against the likes of Rice for a potential spot in the England squad.

Garner will not replace Rice given the Arsenal man is one of the first names on the team sheet.

The likes of Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, though, they are the players who Garner will fancy himself to knock out of contention ahead of the World Cup.
