Mikel Arteta has spoken about his roster of attackers at Arsenal.
The 3-2 defeat to **Man United**marked the third time in a row that the Gunners have dropped points in the Premier League as their lead at the top of the table has gone down to four points when it could have grown to nine barely a fortnight ago. Questions continue to be asked if the team can make the step that has proved a bridge too far in the last three years, and the offence is under great scrutiny.
Viktor Gyokeres has not delivered the goods after a £63 million switch from **Sporting**while transfers in excess of £50 million for **Noni Madueke**and Eberechi Eze have added depth without being decisive additions for the squad. Bukayo Saka is still sought out as the leading light in the final third, and Arteta was asked about why the fluidity of his outfit has not hit the heights expected.
“I saw a lot of incredible talks about the team and individuals when we won in Milan, three days before. It's a beautiful thing about this game. Same players, same team. We want those numbers to be higher, but as well I think we are three goals away from the best team.
“We are not that far, the margins are still very small. We want to be the best in every stat, but it's very important that we can read the stats in a manner that is useful for us and especially for our players.
“It's clear, every situation, every player is different. The level of efficiency that we showed in certain actions, it hasn't helped to raise those numbers higher. Some others because we need to produce probably more for them as well.
“It's a combination of different factors. It's a positive way to look at it; even without this, look where we are. We're going to try to undo that and improve in that area and then the margin will be bigger.”
