Laila Harbert joins Everton on loan for the rest of the season

Arsenal midfielder Laila Harbert has joined WSL side Everton on loan for the remainder of the season. Harbert spent a couple of months on loan with Portland Thorns in the NWSL before returning to the club in December.

She will now spend the rest of the 2025-26 season on loan with Brian Sorensen’s Everton side to further her experience. Having spent time on loan at Watford and Southampton in the Championship, the club have been keen to ramp up her top level experience with NWSL and WSL loans.

With Kyra Cooney-Cross now back from compassionate leave in Australia, Harbert will now join Everton as they aim to stave off the threat of a relegation playoff. As a deep lying midfielder, Everton is a good fit for Laila given the Toffees’ commitment to playing out from the back, they have the highest number of passes in their own third of any team in the WSL. The Gunners have previously loaned Kathrine Kuhl and Gio to Everton.
