The Brooklyn Nets are asking for multiple first-round picks for Michael Porter Jr. If the price falls, the Golden State Warriors would be willing to talk with the Nets.

However, given that the Nets are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, expectations were that the Nets would be open to trading Porter to a contender before the deadline.
That being said, the Nets' asking price makes a potential deal especially difficult, as Brooklyn is seeking multiple first-round picks.
"A name that I'm hearing connected to the Golden State Warriors is Michael Porter Jr. He's a hot commodity for teams ahead of this trade deadline, but right now the asking price is too high," Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated says.
"I'm hearing that the Brooklyn Nets are asking for multiple first-round picks in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. That's a price that's just too high for Golden State to pay right now."
Mannix says that the belief inside the league is that the Nets' requests won't be as strict as the deadline approaches.
"There is a belief both in the Bay and around the league that if the Nets don't get the kind of offer that they want, the price could go down. And if it does, that's a player Golden State will prioritize," Mannix concluded.
In his first season outside of the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, Porter is averaging 25 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, shooting 57.7% from two-point range and 38.9% from three-point range through 36 games.
