There are reports that two Chelsea fans have been stabbed in Naples today, ahead of the Blues’ crucial Champions League clash with Napoli tonight.
Witnesses who saw what happened said that the supporters were targeted as they travelled to a local bar. One fan told the Sun that his friend was chased by a group of “ultra” supporters before being stabbed.
Napoli has a bad history of travelling supporters being attacked by local fans like this. Chelsea released a statement on the matter last night.

“The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples,” a statement on the club Twitter said.
“Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The club would like to remind all supporters to exercise extreme caution whilst in the city and take note of the advice shared ahead of this fixture.”
Advice from the club and from police is for fans to not identify themselves by wearing Chelsea colours or emblems. There is also a shuttle service from the city centre to take fans directly to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium tonight, where more than 2,500 travelling fans are expected to be in attendance.
Stay safe out there, guys!

Chelsea’s transfer situation is tense – nothing has happened so far, and people are getting antsy. Today, the BBC suggested that they could even terminate a player’s contract after failing to sell him for two years.
Another player who could be on the move this month is Aaron Anselmino. He’s already been recalled from Dortmund to Chelsea, but apparently it’s not impossible he makes another switch this month. Liam Rosenior spoke about him in the press conference yesterday.
