Chelsea preparing move to sign striker with £26m release clause 5 goals in 8 apps

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a move to sign a striker who has a £26m release clause and five goals in 8 appearances this season.

A new striker isn’t perhaps the position that you would expect Chelsea to be on the hunt for right now. Although when you look into it deeper, you will see that there is actually probably still a need for them to add another new striker to the ranks.

EXCLUSIVE! Jeremy Jacquet to Chelsea could still be on for THIS window!

Liam Delap has struggled with injuries of course, but he’s hardly hit the ground running in Chelsea blue yet. Joao Pedro’s form is starting to get a bit better again after a lull since starting well in the summer. He’s got some good goal involvement stats but overall, his form has not really been good enough either and ultimately, he’s better as an attacking midfielder rather than an out and out striker.

I still think Chelsea lack in this position, especially in terms of a presence.

So seeing them being linked to a new striker doesn’t really come as much of a surprise to me in all honesty.

Chelsea in for Asllani

Chelsea are on the hunt for a new striker according to a report from Spain, which states BlueCo are preparing a move for Hoffenheim star Fisnik Asllani.

There is a €30m (£26m) release clause in his contract, which becomes active this summer, so you’d imagine any move would be for then rather than now.

The 23-year-old has caught the eye with his performances in the Bundesliga this season, getting 6 goal involvements in 8 appearances for his club.

The manager spoke about Moises Caicedo, who will be a key man tomorrow, and praised him in quite an unusual way.
