It has been revealed that Oleksander Zinchenko can now complete his move to Ajax after Arsenal and Nottingham Forest reached an agreement to end his loan deal with the Premier League side.
The Ukrainian defender has spent the first half of the season on loan with Nottingham Forest but having struggled to get the minutes that he would like, the decision has been made to cut that loan short and send the player to the Netherlands.
According to Voetbal Primeur, Ajax’s director of football Jordi Cruyff is pushing the Gunners to complete a deal. The report claims the director of football spent three hours in the car driving from Barcelona to Villarreal to watch that match before calling Arteta to make the Zinchenko deal happen.
And now, according to Voetbal International, ARSENAL and Forest have reached an agreement on terminating Zinchenko’s loan at the City Ground.
The agreement will allow the Ukraine international to join Ajax, although it now appears that will be on a permanent basis rather than on loan, with his contract at Arsenal set to expire in the summer.
Asked about Zinchenko joining his side, Ajax interim manager Fred Grim said: “I hope that [Zinchenko’s signing] will take shape soon.
“At Ajax, we’re very busy strengthening our squad. It will have to be finalised in the coming week. In my opinion, there are still some possibilities then.”
IcFootballnews Says…
Zinchencho needed this move, that switch to Nottingham Forest was not working out and leaving the Premier League for the Dutch League is a great decision. And if he performs well, other clubs may show an interest.
He may have well played his last game for ARSENAL, and if that is the case, the fans will wish him all the best we are sure as he done a pretty good job with his time at the Emirates.
