Bucks’ Doc Rivers had words for Myles Turner after loss to 76ers

Things are not looking up for the Milwaukee Bucks. There are more negatives than positives for the team, which absorbed another defeat on Tuesday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia against Paul George and the Philadelphia 76ers to the tune of a 139-122 score.

Milwaukee’s loss in the City of Brotherly Love, however, was not because of the team’s lack of firepower. Despitemissing two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpodue to a calf injury, the Bucks had a field day making buckets.

They simply couldn’t stop Philly’s barrage. Milwaukee shot 51 percent from the floor while Philadelphia made 52 percent of its attempts.

Moreover, Milwaukee shot itself in the foot with 12 turnovers that the 76ers converted into 17 points.

Big manMyles Turner stepped upfor the Bucks, as he took advantage of the extra touches he got. He shot 10/16 from the floor and 4/8 from behind the arc before finishing with a team-high 31 points to go along with four rebounds, three dimes, two blocks and a steal in 35 minutes of action.

Turner also earned some praise from Bucks head coach Doc Rivers.

“I thought Myles was great on both ends,” Rivers said in a short assessment of the former Texas Longhorns star’s performance against the 76ers.

Milwaukee is going to need more of that kind of performance from Turner, who has been inconsistent in his first season with the Bucks.

Bucks flounder anew in loss to the 76ers

Milwaukee has now lost three games in a row and five of its last six outings. The Bucks are also 12th in the Eastern Conference standings, 3.5 games outside the Play-in Tournament picture.

There is still time for them to turn it around, but it is just not looking encouraging at the moment for the team. That said, their great scoring night in Philly offers something to hold on to for Milwaukee, which will look to end its skid this Thursday in a road game versus the Washington Wizards.
