Recent Arsenal signing attracting interest from Europe

Arsenal welcome Kazakhstani side Kairat Almaty to The Emirates in the final match of the Champions League group phase on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side sit top of the 32-team Champions League table and have already secured their place in the knockout phase of the competition, but the Spaniard will want to see his side defeat Kairat regardless.

Domestically the Gunners have struggled of late, picking up just a single point from their last three Premier League games.

Arsenal still sit four points clear at the top of the table, but Arteta will be desperate to arrest his side’s recent poor form.

Away from the action, it is emerging that one member of Arteta’s squad is attracting interest from a huge European club.

As per CaughtOffside, Dutch giants Ajax are interested in Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard.

The Danish midfielder only arrived at Arsenal last summer, joining from London rivals Brentford in a deal worth around £15 million.

Since then, Norgaard has made just 11 appearances for the Gunners, and he is yet to start a single Premier League match so far this term.

It is claimed that the Denmark international sits top of Ajax’s list of transfer targets as they look to bolster their midfield in order to challenge for the Eredivisie title.

Ajax are said to have already opened negotiations with Arsenal for the 31-year-old, who is under contract at The Emirates until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

The report suggests that the player himself would be open to the prospect of a move to Amsterdam, despite joining Arsenal less than nine months ago.

During his time with Brentford, Norgaard made 196 appearances for the Bees across all competitions and played an important role in helping them achieve promotion from the Championship to the top flight.
