West Ham are one of several Premier League clubs credited with interest in the former Arsenal defender this month.

Arsenal could benefit from transfer windfall as Serie A outfit Genoa look to sell a former Gunners star this month amid plenty of interest from Premier League clubs.

West Ham are one of several outfits credited with interest in defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who has enjoyed an impressive campaign in Italy. Newcastle United and Everton are also said to be weighing up a late transfer swoop.

The 22-year-old has made 20 Serie A appearances this term and is one of the first names in the starting XI at Genoa, his versatility to play as a full-back or a winger a real asset. Norton-Cuffy joined Genoa in August 2024 from Arsenal on a £3.5 million deal.

The journalist reiterates that Norton-Cuffy ‘could leave’ this month for that fee. Earlier this month, Jacobs wrote: “Exclusive: Newcastle, Everton and West Ham have all shown interest in Genoa right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Also on the radar of Napoli and Juventus. Understand Genoa prepared to sell this month for around €20m.”

West Ham remain in the market for defensive recruits, but a centre-back is the priority for Nuno Espirito-Santo. The Hammers have just bolstered on the flanks with the arrival of Adama Traore. Nuno has both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters currently available in the right back position.

Norton-Cuffy is a product of the Gunners youth academy and was sent out on loan to Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Millwall, never making a senior appearance for Arsenal. Speaking about his time in Italy in October, the player said: “I wanted to come here, play and experience a new style of football, experience a new culture and put myself outside what I’d say is my comfort zone, because I could have easily stayed in England and played for an English team. But I said: ‘Let me try the challenge abroad. Let me learn a new culture'.

"The Italian league is known for its defensive abilities, structure, style of play. So I said: ‘Let me come and improve on my defensive side of the game, but also show what I can do going forward and bring my own style to this league.’”

When leaving Arsenal, Norton-Cuffy shared a short message on social media thanking the club. He wrote: “It’s time to say goodbye to @Arsenal. Thank you for everything. I’ve made so many good memories at this club and learnt a lot. Thanks to team-mates, coaches, fans and everyone involved in my journey. Now it’s time for a new chapter.”
