According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, LeBron stopped drinking alcohol during his rehab and has slimmed down considerably in hopes of taking pressure off his back and joints.
"There's no telling the ride the Lakers could still go on this spring, especially if James can find that cape to put back on. While James is eight years older, he has shown a similar commitment to this season's Lakers team," McMenamin wrote while comparing LeBron's current campaign to his final season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"He missed the first 14 games because of sciatica. But James stopped drinking alcohol during his rehab, and he has slimmed down considerably, hoping to take pressure off his back and joints and to 'keep up with the young guys,'" he added.
In his 23rd season in the league, the 41-year-old LeBron James is averaging 22.4 points, 6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game, continuing to look like one of the NBA's top players.
