Man City are NOT exploring a move for Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Reports earlier this week had claimed that intermediaries had held talks with Pep Guardiola’s side, but speaking on Transfer Insiders podcast, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook said a transfer isn’t on the cards at the moment:
“I did speak to people at Manchester City when this story came out, and it was played down to me.”

“That’s not saying it definitely won’t happen, because actually I think he’d be a great signing for Manchester City, bringing him in.”
Is Alexander-Arnold available for transfer?
The England international left Liverpool last May, with Real paying £8.4m to secure his services before the end of his contract so he could play in the Club World Cup.
However, Alexander-Arnold has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at the Bernabeu. He has only been named in the first eleven for five league matches so far, and that has prompted speculation about his future.
Injuries have certainly not helped matters. A hamstring problem meant he missed the best part of a month between September and October, and he has suffered another muscular issue recently, which has kept him sidelined since the beginning of December.
Man City are in the market for a new right-back
While Matheus Nunes has impressed with his performances this campaign, he is ostensibly a midfielder, and the club have been actively looking for a player who would be a more natural fit for the position.
A move for Tino Livramento was seriously considered last summer, but Newcastle have shown no interest in selling the defender. Feyenoord’s Givairo Read is deemed a more economical option, but there are suggestions that Bayern Munich are favourites for the Dutchman’s services.
For now, the interest in Alexander-Arnold is tentative at best, but if he does come onto the market, it wouldn’t be a surprise if City get involved.
