Liverpool city centre is filling up with Qarabağ fans who have travelled over 2,500 miles for tonight's game against Liverpool FC. It will be the first time the Reds take on the Azerbaijani champions, who were renamed Qarabağ in 1987 and become founding members of their national league.

There are no direct flights from the country's capital Baku to Liverpool so fans have had to through hubs like Istanbul or London to get to Liverpool. Including layovers and the train or bus from London or Manchester to Liverpool, the journey may have taken the supporters

Following their long journey, fans have been arriving in the city centre all afternoon before heading over to Anfield this evening.

The match kicks off at 8pm as side will aim to bounce back from a disappointing defeat against Bournemouth to try and secure automatic progression into the last 16. are currently fourth in the Champions League and a win would ensure they avoid a play-off game.

The Qarabağ FK squad landed into Liverpool yesterday on a chartered Azerbaijan Airlines jet. Footage shared by the airport showed the flight landing and the squad exiting the aircraft, including manager Gurban Gurbanov.
