Oscar Bobb will complete a £27m move to Fulham in the January transfer window after the West London club agreed a fee with Manchester City. The two clubs had been negotiating over a deal and have now found terms that suit both clubs.

City will bank an initial £27m for Bobb, who came through their academy after time in youth teams in Norway and Portugal and was introduced to the first team by Pep Guardiola in the 2023/24 season. He came off the bench to score the winner at St James' Park in a win that proved pivotal to the team making history and winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

However, as Bobb looked to cement his place in the team the next season he suffered a leg fracture on the eve of the campaign. He returned towards the end of the season but has struggled ever since to find his rhythm again, and Guardiola grew frustrated this year with the lack of risks he was taking in the penalty area.

Bobb has not played since coming off injured early in the Carabao Cup win over Brentford in December and the City manager has been frosty about his situation in recent weeks. Amid interest from Fulham, Guardiola said at the weekend that he thought the player wanted to leave.

City have agreed a deal with Fulham that will bring in £27m, but also allows them to benefit if Bobb impresses at Craven Cottage. The club have the ability to match any bid that comes in for Bobb - they used this clause to sign James Trafford last summer from Burnley when Newcastle made an offer and they convinced the player - and will also get 20 per cent of any profit that Fulham make if and when they sell him on; there is no buy-back clause in the deal, however.

Bobb's departure will be completed in the coming days and will likely end the movement in City's squad for the month. Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi have come in for a combined £82.5m and Bobb's fee will offset some of that money.

There may be some academy players who leave on loan in the next few days but City's first-team business is expected to be finished with Bobb.
